Up to a million people have flooded the streets of South Korea¡¯s capital demanding the resignation of it¡¯s president.

Protest organisers estimated that near 850,000 gathered in Seoul in the wake of an explosive political scandal involving President Park Geun-hye.

Police said about 220,000 people turned out for the latest mass rally against Park, whose presidency has been shaken by suspicion that she let a shadowy longtime confidante manipulate power from behind the scenes.
